In the lead-up to Queen’s University Belfast’s graduation period, DSMovers had the honor of managing the relocation of the Seamus Heaney Centre to its new home on University Road, formerly the Open University Building. Following a stunning refurbishment and fit-out, the team expertly moved staff offices, museum areas, and many of Seamus Heaney’s own manuscripts and teaching papers. The newly relocated centre is now open to tourists and serves as a vibrant focal point for the university in the heart of Belfast City Centre, accommodating 50 staff members.
Queen’s University Belfast and and Ulster University
July was a bustling month for DSMovers, starting with a significant project for Queen’s University Belfast’s School of Architecture. The team successfully relocated over 100 lecturers and postgraduate students. This complex move involved packing files, relocating equipment, handling IT decommissioning and recommissioning, and providing storage solutions while the existing offices underwent refurbishment. DSMovers’ expertise ensured a smooth transition for the academic community.
DSMovers’ relationship with Ulster University continued to flourish in July. After completing the university’s full campus relocation in 2022, the team was called upon once again to assist with the expansion of the BC block Gym. The gym’s growth necessitated a move to a new building on Nelson Street in Belfast. DSMovers efficiently handled the relocation of gym equipment, flooring, furniture, and technology, ensuring the new facility was ready for use.
